Overnight, Trail or Backcountry Exploring? Kelty Coyote Backpacks and Other Must Haves

Planning a summer trek into the mountain? Or perhaps you are planning on doing a weekend excursion into the bush? Whatever the case, we have outlined the essential items for any avid bush hiker and adventure camper.

The back pack stove is lightweight and there is absolutely no need for an electrical outlet or any of that inconvenient nonsense. A back pack stove is a great way to enjoy the outdoors while enjoying food that is a little more tasteful.

Your Three Essentials

  1. Comfortable walking shoes/hiking boots- make sure you have walked a mile (or so) in your shoes before starting out.
  2. First aid kit- you never know what might happen.
  3. Kelty coyote backpack- for those who are into trail hiking, then the Kelty Coyote backpack is the perfect pack for you. Made from 600 D polyester rip stop, the Kelty coyote backpack features top loading, front panel access, large front pockets, zippered side pockets and load compression straps. What this means for you is that you can easily access all your items on the way. Furthermore, the top lip converts into a fanny pack for day hikes around the base camp.
  4. Other Seven Must Haves

  5. Long underwear- for those extra chilly nights, especially if you are planning on trekking up a mountain
  6. A warm sleeping bag
  7. Extra socks and underwear- there is a good chance you will sweat through the first pair within a few hours.
  8. A fast drying towel- if you want to dip in the lake to cool down, but don’t want to carry a wet towel wherever you go, then a fast drying towel is a necessity.
  9. Cooking utensils and equipment- don’t forget the propane as well as forks, knives, plates, cups and something to cook with.
  10. Food- bring food that is easy to make and even easier to carry.
  11. A compass/cell phone (if you get service) - don’t get lost up there.
  12. And Three More for Fun!

  13. A friend- this is not just for fun, but also a very smart idea when it comes to safety.
  14. A pillow case- many people can sleep without a pillow; however, if you are not one of them you can make your own pillow from a pillow case and your extra clothes.
  15. And….a camera- they are lightweight and essential. Capture your expedition and remember it forever.
